DESCRIPTION ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER is a liquid compound with extremely high solvency and penetrating capabilities to remove carbonaceous residue formed by fuel and lube oil and other petroleum products exposed to high temperatures. ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER is neither acidic nor alkaline, has a high flash point, and is non-corrosive to metals. It does not require a water seal, and can be used with or without heat.
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Appearance : Liquid Colour : Amber pH : Neutral Viscosity : 30 Sec at 40°C by redwood viscometer No.1 Specific Gravity : 1.03 to 1.05 Flashpoint : above 65°C Solubility in water : Soluble in water
USAGE & APPLICATION ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER removes carbon, grease, fuel residues, soot, ash, tar, paint, resin, etc from metal surfaces. It can be used effectively for removing such deposits from - 01) FUEL / LUBE OIL HEATERS OR COOLERS 02) FUEL / LUBE OIL FILTERS 03) DIESEL ENGINE PARTS LIKE PISTON, PISTON RINGS, VALVE CAGE, BURNER TIPS, FUEL INJECTORS ETC.
ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER is delivered ready for use. It is equally efficient for in-place cleaning by CIRCULATION METHOD and for soaking of individual parts by DIP TANK METHOD. It may be desirable to heat ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER if you encounter heavy carbon deposits or if rapid cleaning is necessary. Heating to 49°C (120°F) will quadruple the solvency power. However, it is recommended that the temperature should not exceed 60°C (14°0F); nor should heat be used in an enclosed or unventilated area.
Dip Tank Method: Simply immerse the parts to be cleaned into a suitable container filled with ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER. Hang the objects in a wire basket or from a wire so they are off the bottom and completely immersed in the solvent. It is desirable to stir or agitate the solvent when the deposits are exceptionally heavy. When clean, rinse the parts with water and then dry by wiping or with compressed air. Stubborn deposits can be brushed away with a stiff bristle brush once they have been softened by ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER. To reduce soaking time use heat as described above. To prevent sludging of the soak tank and to prolong the effective strength of ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER, all loose grease, dirt and oil should be removed with ROCHEM DEGREASOL, degreasing solvent, steam or water before soaking items in ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER.
